Live Music MP3s!
- Los Alamos - Recorded in
October 2001 on tour with John Sinclair, from a club
soundboard. The studio version appears on our debut CD Sick Little
Monkey.
- Whiskey &
Maryjane - Also a soundboard recording, from our fall 2001 tour
with John Sinclair. Also on Sick Little Monkey
- Coda - An instrumental from a
pre-broadcast soundcheck on radio station WMFO, where the Devil Gods
recently played the "On the Town with Mikey Dee" show.
- Blue Eyed Son - From Perk's, the
Norwood, MA coffeehouse that's become one of the band's favorite
hangs. Showcases our unique approach to semi-acoustic performance in a
stripped-down setting.
- Black Metallic - A cover of the
glorious Catherine Wheel song, also from that night at Perk's. Yeah,
we DO rock - even with acoustic guitars.
Live Reviews!
THE NOISE - DECEMBER 2001
THE DEVIL GODS Lizard Lounge 11/16/01
Thirteen guitar pedals! Wow! The guitarist has thirteen f'ing
pedals and to top it off the singer has about a half dozen more hooked
up to his guitar. If that's not enough, there is a strobe light
flashing in my face. I wasn't exactly looking for complete sensory
overload when I headed out tonight but it's cool. The layers of music
are rich and thick and the melodies are quirky and intelligent, which
is great because it keeps my ears guessing, never knowing what to
expect. (Kier Byrnes)
CASCO BAY WEEKLY - JANUARY 29, 2002
That gig was more about evoking far-flung psychedelic madness than
delivering a polite reading. Guitarist Ted Drozdowski played while
rolling around on the floor, as if possessed. The band emitted raunchy
waves of over-amped noise that filled the small club to the
rafters. Onlookers walking by on their way to the Old Port's dance
clubs stood outside the window and gaped, confused, as if saying to
themselves, "So this is live music?" (Joe S. Harrington)
